Wireless Network Evaluation and Optimization

Most homes use an all-in-one wireless router, which acts as a router/firewall, switch and wireless access point (AP). For small homes and offices, a centrally located device like this can perform well. However, if you have a larger home or office, or the router sits in the basement next to the modem, its signal often can’t reach the rooms where you need it. Placement is key. Access points are radio transmitters and receivers, which are affected by distance, walls, interference from other access points (your neighbors’) and electrical devices. We can perform an analysis of your environment and make recommendations. This might simply be moving the access point to a better location. If you have a larger home and/or want outside coverage, then upgrading your equipment or adding more access points might be needed.
